A recent ranking of Facebook’s top 100 pages brings home a very interesting fact – Facebook has gone corporate!
Facebook was started just five years ago by Mark Zuckerberg when he was a student at Harvard. Initially limited to just Harvard students, they soon expanded to other colleges. Then they let high school kids in. And today, anyone over 13 who can fog a mirror (even that might be debatable) can join.
With more than 350 MILLION members, boardrooms across the globe took quick notice and Facebook now is dominated by big names, big advertisers, and big money.
Several sources close to Facebook told TBI Research analyst Rory Maher that the company is about to hit a $1 billion annual revenue run-rate.
That’s a huge increase over the $550 million revenues Facebook will reportedly reach in 2009.
The rankings used various metrics—including fan numbers, page growth, frequency of updates, creativity as determined by a panel of judges, and fan engagement—to determine each page’s score and ultimate rank on the list.
Here’s the list…
1. Coca-Cola (4,007,785 fans)
2. Starbucks (2,432,350 fans)
3. Disney (2,621,683 fans)

It’s pretty funny that the donut guys placed two pages in the top 25 (Dunkin Donuts #12 and Krispy Kreme #17). In fact, Facebook will quickly put you into a diabetic coma if you’re not careful.
How about digesting this sampling…
A coke (#1), followed by a double latte at Starbucks (#2), washed down by a RedBull (#9), next it’s a quick Skittles (#11) snack together with a pit stop at Dunkin Donuts (#12) for a double chocolate donut, followed by a warm Krispy Kreme donut (#17) with a Mountain Dew chaser (#18), topped off with a double pepperoni pizza at Papa Johns (#20). Call the ambulance!
